Philip Soladoye
Founder / Executive Director
Philip Soladoye graduated with First Class Honours in Food Science and Technology at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta. He later proceeded with an Erasmus Mundus scholarship to complete a double master’s degree at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark and the Autonomous University of Barcelona, Spain. Having his PhD in Food Science from the University of Saskatchewan, Canada, Philip has since become a seasoned professional and sustainability advocate with expertise at the intersection of agriculture, food systems, and innovation. His work focuses on advancing sustainable practices within the food processing sector, strengthening industry competitiveness, and supporting science-informed policy development. With leadership experience in professional associations and cross-sector collaboration, he is particularly passionate about helping others, as well as translating research into practical solutions that improve resource efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance value creation across agri-food supply chains.

Temitope Abolarin
Co-founder / Director of Strategy
Temitope Abolarin is a technology professional, entrepreneur, author, and community builder passionate about using innovation to solve social challenges. He holds an HND in Computer Science and has professional training in both physical and digital marketing, bringing together technology, communication, and strategy to drive meaningful social impact. He is the founder of Deep Secrets Room (DSR), a support community that has empowered thousands of young people through mentorship, guidance, and personal development. He has authored several books and serves as a mentor with the Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF), supporting emerging entrepreneurs across Africa. As Co-Founder and Director of Strategy at ACFBI, he leads strategic planning, digital innovation, partnerships, and organizational growth, helping build sustainable systems that expand access to food support for students across African campuses.

Omotola Olaniyan
Director of Finance
Omotola Olaniyan is passionate about giving back to her community and supporting initiatives that help people thrive. She holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Agricultural Economics from the University of Saskatchewan and has volunteered with a Community Tax Clinic, assisting individuals in accessing tax services and benefits. With a background in public policy and stakeholder relations, she brings strong financial and organizational skills to her role as Director of Finance. She is excited to contribute to the Food Bank Initiative for University Students and support efforts to ensure students have access to the resources they need to succeed.

Manuel Juarez
Director of Global Partnerships & Engagement
Dr. Manuel Juárez started his career working as a veterinarian in Finland, focusing on dairy and swine health. He decided to further his education with an MBA and a Ph.D. in Animal Production. This included work experiences in research institutions in Ireland and Italy. He then worked in the private sector, providing solutions to goat and swine producers in Southern Spain. In 2009, Dr. Juárez arrived to Canada as a postdoctoral fellow, and two years later he became the Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada Livestock Phenomics Scientist, where he continued his work until 2026, when he transitioned to the University of Calgary, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, as Director of the Simpson Centre for Food and Agricultural Policy.

Abiodun Olayode
Director of Communications
Abiodun Olayode is an engineer and AI automation specialist based in Edmonton, Alberta, with over a decade of experience delivering technical programs across the energy, maritime, and technology sectors. He is the founder of Oakes Solutions AI, an automation agency helping small and mid-sized businesses streamline operations through intelligent workflows. Beyond his professional work, he is passionate about social impact — currently serving as Director of Communications at the African Campus Food Bank Initiatives (ACFBI), a movement dedicated to ending student hunger across Nigerian university campuses.

Azeez Yusuf
Director of Operations
Dr. Yusuf Azeez Olanrewaju is a Nigerian animal scientist and lecturer in the Department of Animal Production and Health at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Nigeria. He obtained his B.Agric. (2008), M.Agric. (2011), and Ph.D. in Animal Science with specialization in Ruminant Production (2015) from FUNAAB. He joined the university in 2009 as a Junior Research Fellow after graduating as the best student in the Department of Animal Production and Health and has since built a distinguished career in teaching, research, and academic mentorship. A recipient of several competitive fellowships and research grants, he completed a postdoctoral fellowship at North-West University, South Africa, and was awarded the DAAD ClimapAfrica Postdoctoral Fellowship. He has also served as a Visiting Researcher at University of Kassel, Germany. His work continues to contribute to the advancement of livestock production systems, food security, and environmental sustainability in Africa.
